MEET THE CAROLERS
Emily Senkowsky has performed on professional stages across the US, but currently calls Chicago home. Here, she teaches theatre and music to young artists as well as running her own vocal studio: Sing with Emily. She absolutely loves caroling and is thrilled to be leading The Chicago Carolers this season!
She's been hooked on caroling since performing Frosty the Snowman for an enormous group of enthusiastic kids, and can't wait to do the same for you this holiday season!
Courtney Dane Mize is from small town Mississippi and calls Chicago a second home. She performs locally and regionally as a singer, actress, and musician. Theatre is her love, but choral music has a special place in her heart. She’s performed in church since she’s been able to talk, and performed in all sorts of choirs, from Madrigal, Sextet, to Community, since she was in high school. There’s nothing like bringing together the Holiday Season and music!
Rachel is thrilled to be singing carols again this Christmas with The Chicago Carolers! Rachel has performed in musicals throughout Chicago most notably at Porchlight Music Theatre Company, Drury Lane Oakbrook and Theo Ubique. In addition, she teaches private voice and piano lessons. Rachel’s favorite (though who can really pick a favorite?!) Christmas carol is a tie between Carol of the Bells and O Holy Night.
Jennifer is a singer, musician, actor, and dancer currently based in Chicago. She originally grew up in Southern California, and has been training and performing for in all areas of the arts for twenty years. Jennifer has worked at various theaters in the Chicagoland area, such as Boho Theatre, Kokandy Productions, and Porchlight Music Theatre. She has always loved the holiday season and is so excited to spread some cheer around the city with The Chicago Carolers this year! Halle is a singer, actor, and musician originally from southeast Michigan. She recently graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Columbia College Chicago. She takes the Christmas spirit very seriously and was actually once accused by a child of being an undercover Christmas elf. Halle is so excited to be spreading holiday cheer with the Chicago Carolers this year!
Sarah is an actor and voice actor here in Chicago and is originally from southeast Michigan. She is a proud graduate of Ball State University class of 2017, and firmly believes that "the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!" She is so excited to share in the Christmas season with everyone!
Jessica Surprenant is tickled pink to be joining The Chicago Carolers this season! She has been singing for as long as she can remember and has been working as a professional actress since graduating from the University of Utah with her BFA in musical theatre. Jessica is a resident member of Chicago Kids Company and can be seen performing at Beverly Arts Center throughout the holiday season. She cannot wait to start spreading cheer throughout the Chicagoland area!
Jenni Carroll is a Minnesota native currently studying photography and musical theatre at Columbia College Chicago. Growing up, she participated in her town’s old-fashioned Christmas and spent many weekends caroling around various neighborhoods. She takes Christmas very seriously and has adopted the nickname ‘Jenni Christmas Carroll’. Needless to say, she’s excited to join the Chicago Carolers this year to help spread holiday cheer!
Colin is a Chicago based singer, actor, and choreographer. He has been seen on stage all over the Chicagoland area, including years of singing a capella at Six Flags in Gurnee. Colin now spends most of the time teaching music classes to babies and small children. He has been caroling professionally since high school, and credits caroling as a young child for giving him his love of music and singing!
Michael is a Chicago-based performer, who hails from Northern Michigan. Recent credits include: Hunchback of Notre Dame (Music Theatre Works), The Book of Merman (Flying Elephants Productions), and Carrie 2 (Underscore Theater Company). When not onstage, Michael can be found hanging out with his dog, Rhaegar, or napping. Like Buddy the Elf, Michael thinks the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear!
Transplanted from a small town in Northern MN, Jordan’s been living in Chicago for 6 years now. Attended Columbia College Chicago for Musical Theatre as well as Augsburg University for Vocal Performance. This is his first time with the Chicago Carolers and Is incredibly excited to be joining us this holiday season. Ready and willing to bring that Christmas Cheer
Will Kazda (tenor) is an actor, singer, and teacher in Chicago. He has performed in shows with Brown Paper Box Co., Pride Films & Plays, New American Folk Theatre, and Hell in a Handbag, among others. He has also performed in Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, Japan. You can catch him next in If/Then with Brown Paper Box Co in January and February 2020.
Pavi is an Actor, Composer, Writer, Singer, and Audiobook narrator. His stage performances range from Shakespeare, to musicals, to opera, avant garde plays, to sketch comedy and stand up. He composes for piano, chamber ensembles, symphonies, and voice. Pavi grew up caroling around the Ukrainian village at Christmas time, and enjoyed all the treats he’s get at each stop. Casey has been singing in various concert choirs and acapella groups over the past ten years. He is a proud alumni of Ball State University, where he sang bass in their all-male acapella group, Note to Self. Casey is very excited to be singing with The Chicago Carolers for the first time!
Alexander Rothfield is a recent graduate of Northwestern University, where he studied Vocal Performance, Musical Theatre, and Music Education. Favorite credits include Peter u/s Pinkalicious: The Musical (Marriott Theatre), Ensemble in The Huncback of Notre Dame (Music Theatre Works), Zach in A Chorus Line, and Vittorio Vidal in Sweet Charity (Northwestern Mainstage).
Christopher Davis is a Christmas Eve Baby, who has been holiday caroling around Chicagoland for over ten years! This is his first year singing with the Chicago Carolers. An alumni of the prestigious St. Olaf Choir, Chris is also an active, Chicago-based actor. He frequents the local Theatre-for-young-audiences scene, is an enthusiastic improviser with the Murder Mystery Company, and routinely freelances in professional plays and musicals.
